Occupational Therapist (Pediatric, Adolescent & Adult)

In thelast five years, STAR has undergone significant growth and transformation, firmly positioning the organization within thehealth equity space. Our work now intentionally integrates clinical practice, education, research, and advocacy to address systemic barriers to care and promote meaningful participation for people with sensory processing differences across the lifespan. 

With new grant funding to expand access to sensory informed services, STAR is growing its clinical team as part of a long-term, sustainability focused expansion. We anticipate hiring up to four Occupational Therapists, including pediatric clinicians and experienced adult focused OTs.This role offers the opportunity to join a mission driven organization that valuesclinical excellence and occupational justice as equally essential—and actively invests in both.

We practice a neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed, client- and family-led model grounded in the STAR Frame of Reference, integrating principles from Ayres Sensory Integration® and DIR/Floortime. Our work attends to the intersection of sensory processing, identity, culture, race, disability, and lived experience, recognizing that access, participation, and health outcomes are shaped by systemic inequities.

Professional Learning & Certification 
STAR is deeply invested in your professional formation. Within your first two years, clinicians complete foundational certification pathways that establish shared language, clinical rigor, and depth of practice across the team. 

• Certification in the STAR Frame of Reference.
• DIR/Floortime certification through ICDL (Interdisciplinary Council on Development and Learning).
• Ongoing mentorship, reflective supervision, and supported clinical application of these models. 

Your Work Will Include

• Conduct comprehensive standardized and non-standardized evaluations.
• Provide individual and group therapy using sensory-informed, relationship-based approaches.
• Coach and partner with clients and families as equal collaborators in care.
• Collaborate with schools, physicians, and other providers to support generalization.
• Track outcomes and document progress clearly and efficiently.
• Contribute to a culture of learning, reflection, and clinical excellence.
• Multidisciplinary collaboration
• Opportunities to participate in delivery of education and research projects, based on your interests 

Working Environment

• Ability to perform physical activities requiring considerable use of arms and legs, including lifting and moving equipment.
• Ability to provide up to 6 hours of direct treatment daily in a gym-based, sensory-rich environment. 

Hours of Operation 
40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, scheduled between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM.

Compensation & Details 
Full-time, onsite position in Centennial, CO. 
Salary range: $60,000–$100,000, commensurate with experience.

• Licensed (or license-eligible) Occupational Therapist in Colorado (Medicaid eligibility preferred).
• Open to new graduates through experienced clinicians.
• Passionate about sensory integration and neurodevelopment.
• Committed to neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed practice.
• Spanish-speaking ability a plus.
• Neuro-affirming feeding therapists, including those supporting complex or relational feeding needs, are strongly encouraged to apply.

Complementary Clinical Experience

• Experience with pediatric and/or adolescent/adult sensory integration.
• Training or strong interest in SCERTS, NMT, TBRI, Circle of Security, or related approaches.
• Training or experience in NDT and Conductive Education settings.
