Connecticut Children’s is seeking a board certified/eligible pediatric surgeon with experience in (or seeking to learn) fetoscopic and open fetal surgery to join a comprehensive Fetal Care Center currently providing the entire spectrum of prenatal diagnosis, counseling and fetal interventions - the only one in New England. The Center provides fetal interventions ranging from ultrasound guided needle-based techniques to ultrasound guided thoraco-amniotic and vesicoamniotic shunt placements, as well as fetoscopic interventions for twin twin transfusion syndrome, fetoscopic endoluminal tracheal occlusion for severe diaphragmatic hernia, prenatal repair of myelomeningocele, fetal thoracoscopy, laser ablation of posterior urethral valves and devascularization of chorioangiomas. In addition, we offer open fetal surgery for myelomeningoceles, mediastinal and pericardial teratomas and EXIT procedures. This position would report to and be mentored by the Fetal Care Center Director, Timothy M Crombleholme, MD, with over 30 years of experience in fetal surgery. Additionally, this surgeon would also be a member of the pediatric surgery division with the ability to develop a robust pediatric surgery practice.
