Best Consulting is proud to lead the search for a dynamic Division Chief of Pediatric Anesthesiology for OU Health: Oklahoma's only comprehensive academic health system, uniting the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, OU Health Physicians, and Oklahoma Children's Hospital, home to the state's only Pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center.
Reporting to the Chair of Anesthesiology, the Division Chief of Pediatric Anesthesiology will direct the clinical, academic, and operational future of pediatric anesthesia care across one of the region's largest and most respected departments. The Chief will lead a multidisciplinary team delivering anesthesia care to pediatric patients undergoing surgery, interventional procedures, imaging, and pain management, while advancing medical education, driving clinical research, and supporting an ACGME-accredited pediatric anesthesiology fellowship.
The ideal candidate is a fellowship-trained pediatric anesthesiologist, board certified in Anesthesiology with subspecialty certification in Pediatric Anesthesiology, bringing at least 10 years of clinical experience and a proven record of leadership. We seek a visionary, strategic leader who thinks boldly while remaining operationally and financially grounded, with a deep commitment to clinical excellence, education, and academic distinction.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Pediatric Anesthesiology Section, cultivating clinical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Establish clinical protocols and quality initiatives that advance the standard of pediatric anesthesia care.
Coordinate with surgical, medical, and nursing teams to ensure seamless, multidisciplinary care.
Align the section's priorities with the strategic direction of OU Health and the OU College of Medicine.
Mentor faculty, residents, and fellows, modeling the highest standards of practice and professionalism.
Strengthen educational programs and champion research, scholarly activity, and academic publication.
About OU Health Oklahoma Children's Hospital is the state's only Pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center and home to the only 24/7 pediatric ER in Oklahoma City, with a U.S. News Top 50 ranking for pediatric cardiology, heart surgery, and gastroenterology. Its Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology includes eight full-time pediatric anesthesiologists, supports 12 operating rooms and five non-OR procedure sites, and manages 700 to 800 cases each month.

Requirements
Key Qualifications
MD or DO with board certification in Anesthesiology and subspecialty certification in Pediatric Anesthesiology.
Active medical license and eligibility for licensure in Oklahoma.
Eligibility for privileges at Oklahoma Children's Hospital.
Minimum 10 years of clinical experience in pediatric anesthesia, with demonstrated leadership.
Eligibility for academic appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
Prior leadership within academic institutions, health centers, or teaching hospitals.
