- Faculty Appointment | Pediatric Gastroenterologists
Description
NORTON CHILDREN’S GASTROENTEROLOGY, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, and part of Norton Children’s Medical Group, is seeking board-certified, fellowship-trained pediatric gastroenterologists to join our growing team of six physicians, three nurse practitioners, a registered dietitian, a psychologist and a licensed clinical social worker. The selected candidate will deliver a combination of inpatient and outpatient care at the 300-bed Norton Children’s Hospital and three local outpatient clinics. In collaboration with pediatric specialists in surgery, pulmonology, allergy, and ear, nose and throat, we offer multidisciplinary care for aerodigestive disorders, eosinophilic esophagitis, and growth and nutrition, with plans to expand to other conditions.
We’re excited to share several major developments:
- We’re hiring academic Pediatric GI physicians for 2026-2028
- We’re building a brand-new children’s hospital/care campus in Louisville
- We’ve received local approval to launch a new Pediatric GI Fellowship Program
- We are actively recruiting academic pediatric gastroenterologists with interests in both general and subspecialty care.
- Our program offers:
- 7 clinical sessions per week (including endoscopy)
- Embedded support team: psychologist, social workers, dietitians, nurses, and medical assistants
- A collaborative and supportive academic environment
- We’ve also received internal approval to launch a Pediatric GI Fellowship and will be recruiting a Program Director. The fellowship builds on a strong training pipeline with 75+ pediatric residents in Louisville and over 140 statewide.
Norton Children’s Gastroenterology providers are active participants in the ImproveCareNow network, a community of clinicians, researchers and families working together for children with Crohn’s disease and inflammatory bowel disease. Norton Children’s Gastroenterology is home to specialists with a wide variety of backgrounds and areas of focus. We are looking for collaborative physicians to join our skilled team in providing comprehensive patient care for a broad range of gastrointestinal, liver and nutritional problems.
About the Position
- The position includes a faculty appointment at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, with the opportunity to explore quality improvement, clinical research, translational research, medical education, child advocacy or community engagement. Norton Children’s Research Institute, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, offers broad support for every stage of research, including study design and statistical analysis.
- Full-time position with work/life balance supported by standard outpatient clinic schedule and shared call coverage split among physician team
- Perform surgical procedures, including endoscopy and colonoscopy
- Ongoing quality improvement efforts for inpatient and outpatient clinical services
- Faculty appointment with competitive salary and academic rank commensurate with experience.
