Description
The Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Stanford University seeks a board-certified or board-eligible congenital cardiac surgeon to join the Division of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery at the Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor rank in the Clinician Educator Line.
The major criterion for appointment in the Clinician Educator line is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Faculty in the Clinician Educator line are expected to engage in scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine and to participate in quality improvement, clinical research, and educational activities.
The successful candidate will participate in the full range of clinical responsibilities within the Stanford Children’s Heart Center, including operative and perioperative management of patients with congenital heart disease, participation in multidisciplinary care, performance of clinical research, and teaching of trainees and other healthcare providers. The position is designed to provide graduated responsibility across the full spectrum of congenital heart surgery therapies, with a particular focus on advanced pulmonary artery reconstruction techniques.
Pursuant to California statute, the salary range is provided. The expected base pay range for this position is:
Clinical Assistant Professor: $310,000 - $375,000
Clinical Associate Professor: $455,000 - $485,000
This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
