Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Echo Sonographer with 3+ years of experience and RDCS-PE certification for a 13-week acute care assignment in West Virginia.
Details
- Acute care setting within a pediatric hospital, working in the Pediatric Echocardiography department
- Common studies include fetal and pediatric echocardiography, with inpatient echo performed on the unit
- Average of 8 scans/studies per day
- Philips EPIQ7 equipment used in the department
- EMR system is Epic; ISCV also used
- Monday–Friday day shifts, typically 8:00 AM–4:30 PM or 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
- No weekend or holiday requirements
- No call or standby requirements
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of sonography experience
- Current BLS, ARDMS, and RDCS-PE (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer – Pediatric Echocardiography) certifications required
- License required if applicable
- Two professional references required, including at least one supervisor reference; if the candidate worked a permanent position in the last 12 months, one supervisor reference must be from that facility
- Driver's license and certification copies required for consideration
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Perform pediatric and fetal echocardiographic studies, as well as inpatient echo on the unit
- Department-specific orientation is provided
- A phone interview with a unit manager is required as part of the selection process
- Light grey scrubs are preferred; candidates are not expected to purchase new scrubs — wearing current scrub uniforms is acceptable, though children-appropriate scrub tops are welcome
- Candidates who previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before being eligible to return
- Travelers who have worked within the WVU system for a cumulative total of one year must also take a 2-year break before reapplying
- Candidates may only be submitted to one WVU facility at a time
- First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but strong references, relevant experience, and a clean background history are emphasized priorities for this unit
