We're looking for a Pediatric Registered Respiratory Therapist (Peds-RRT) for an immediate travel position opening in Bangor, ME. The right Peds-RRT must have 1 year of recent acute care experience. Read below for additional requirements.
As a Peds-RRT, you will provide direct patient care to patients in a variety of clinical areas, including evaluations and treatments according to procedural guidelines.
As a Peds-RRT, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:
- Administer to patients a variety of simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities.
- Maintains appropriate patient records/documentation.
- Cleans, disinfects, assembles, calibrates, maintains respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories. Evaluates equipment for proper and safe function. Reports malfunctions to director.
- Performs arterial puncture and analyzes sample according to procedure guidelines.
- Interacts with co-workers, nurses, physicians, other hospital personnel to optimize continuum of care for patient being treated.
- Responds to emergent situations that could require Respiratory support.
Peds-RRTs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. Peds-RRTs should be able to easily lift 20 pounds. Moving or lifting of patients may require lifting of up to 50 pounds at times. Peds-RRTs must have specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Must have 1 year of experience. Must have NBRC-RRT, BLS, and ACLS. PALS and NRP may be required in some areas.

CLINICAL INTERVIEWCerts Required: BLS & NRP (required); PALS (preferred)Experience Required: 2+ years. Must have previous NICU/PICU experience as well as Adult experience – Experience with Oscillator 3100 Sensormatic and Drager ventilator would be helpful for candidates to be successful. Very critical care focused and protocol-driven RT team. Critical care exp. including airway and ventilator management, ABG puncture and analysis, Non-invasive ventilation, code blue and rapid response experience, inhaled medication administration.no CRTs or Respiratory Technicians will be accepted – no exceptionsFloating Required: Float to other trained units only.Patient Types (Common Diagnoses):COPD, CHF, Cystic Fibrosis, ARDS, MVA Trauma/Surgery, Pneumonia, Lung CA, Stroke, ALS, GBS, COVID19, RSV
